As part of the Boston Archdiocese’s disposition of church property the Blessed Sacrament Church on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain was offered for sale. The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation in partnership with the New Atlantic Development Corporation purchased the property at the end of 2005. In addition to the church the property has two school buildings, a rectory and a convent.

The borrowers will redevelop the site with a mix of 116 homeownership and rental housing units 55% of which will be affordable. The school buildings will remain as schools serving troubled youth and the convent will be converted to 27 SRO units by the Pine Street Inn.

PCI is participating in an acquisition and predevelopment loan from Boston Community Capital.
